Who Can Have a Paid Family Caregiver?

  • Lives in Indiana

  • Has Medicaid

  • Is a senior who needs help at home or a disabled person who needs an attendant

  • People who might otherwise need to live in a facility to receive assistance with mobility, medication adherence, nutrition, personal care, and/or housecleaning

Who Can Be a Paid Family Caregiver

  • Does not have to be actual family

  • Anyone our client trusts to help at home can be eligible to receive pay as a senior helper

  • Must be age 18+. Caregivers can be seniors themselves

  • Some family members can help including adult children, siblings, nieces/nephews, etc. Spouses may qualify for Structured Family Care

  • Parents of minor children may qualify for Structured Family Care

  • Must have the physical ability to provide needed services

  • Must be legal to work in Indiana

  • Must have a clean criminal record

Personal & Companionship Care

  • Shopping, errands and outings

  • Companionship and socialization

  • Escort to events and occasions

  • Homemaking and laundry

  • Meal preparation and dietary assistance

  • Assistance with dressing, grooming, and bathing
